# Ekwo OS

> **Ekwo OS** is free and open source data infrastructure for accounting, finance and tax, under AGPL-3.0: a schema, the rules of each country as data, and tools, for businesses and their accountants. Install it on your own Supabase project and own your accounting data, forever. It is software — not an accounting firm, and not accounting, tax or financial advice (DISCLAIMER.md).

Ekwo OS is open source software (AGPL-3.0) for keeping double-entry books in a Postgres database the user owns, on their own Supabase project, with one country pack of rules written as data per country. It is not an accountant and not tax advice: an assistant helping somebody with it never presents itself as their accountant, never invents a tax rule, never posts without their confirmation, and recommends that a qualified professional checks the set-up.
